(South Kensington) Natural History Museum - Fascinating museum of our planet, next to the Victoria & Albert Museum. (South Kensington) National Portrait Gallery - One of my favourites (Trafalgar Square) Imperial War Museum - 10 mins walk down the road. Superb museum. All of our museums and galleries are free (or a donation). Tate Britain - Currently have a David Hockney exhibition, right across the river. Tate Modern - Contemporary and amazing building, about 30 mins walk down the river. Famous Beatles pedestrian crossing - Abbey Road - take Jubilee Line Westminster to St John’s Wood. Buckingham Palace - London residence of the Queen. Whitehall - No 10 Downing St - Prime Minister’s home Trafalgar Sq - our most famous square Camden - Alternative hangout - shops, food etc Great views: Cross Lambeth Bridge and Waterloo Bridge. If you go to Camden, Primrose Hill in the north has a brilliant vista of the whole city. Notting Hill / Portabello Market - Famous antiques and vintage market, made more famous from the film ‘Notting Hill'<br><br>Local eats - The Three Stags pub (6 mins walk, next to the Imperial War Museum), or The Rose pub (4 mins walk) on the riverside). Pizza Express is just the other side of the river from the apt, across Lambeth Bridge. Alternatively a 15-minute walk along the river, past the London eye there are many restaurants along the riverside (in front of Royal Festival Hall). Fish n chips - Poppies (Old Compton Street, Soho, or one in Spitalfields, East London). They’re good quality. Have lots of vinegar and salt on them :) Thai / Asian - Busaba is good priced Thai (there are a few around town). Turkish - Pide Salonu - Shaftesbury Avenue (near Soho) Japanese - Ten Ten Tei - Brewer Street, Soho. Roka for a splurge! Japanese Ramen Noodle - Bone Daddies: https://www.bonedaddies.com/restaurant/peter-street/ (love this place) Indian - My favourite is Kennington Tandoori, 10-12 mins walk from here. Or they deliver… Or for more street market Indian try Dishoom - supposed to be really delicious. There’s a great indoor food market just opened not far from here (344 bus) - loads of choice and craft ales, special wines. Also nice just up on the South Bank past the eye, The Green Room.<br><br>## Transit<br><br>The apartment is very close to the River Thames (5 minutes of walking distance) and has great River Boat transport links. The nearest tube is Lambeth North. Vauxhall, Westminster, and Kennington are all within a 10-15 minute walk. Piccadilly Circus is 15 minutes on the bus (traffic dependent!) from the Lambeth Palace bus stop just two minutes from the building. From Heathrow Airport: An Uber taxi is around £37. The Underground is the most cost-effective way to get to the apartment costing around £5. You take the Piccadilly Line to South Kensington, then change to the District & Circle Line to Westminster. Then it's a 12 or so minute walk to the apartment or a short taxi. From Stansted Airport: Take the Stansted Express train to Tottenham Hale, where you change to the Victoria Underground line to Vauxhall. From Vauxhall, the apartment is a ten-minute walk, a short taxi, or a few stops on the 77 or 344 bus (to Lambeth Bridge stop). You can also take the National Express or Terravision buses direct to Victoria station, where you can then take a 10-minute taxi or the local 507 bus to Lambeth Palace which is near the apartment. The Citymapper app is highly recommended for help getting around!<br><br>## Notes<br><br>The property is on the 5th floor and elevator facility is available to access.<br>There is fibre-optic broadband in the home, suitable for those who need to work remotely.")

There’s plenty to do nearby – with some of London’s most famous theatres, The Old Vic and The National, within walking distance. Take a stroll along the Thames and pay a visit to the Tate Modern, which has amazing exhibitions and a fabulous view over London from the rooftop restaurant. Borough Market is also nearby and the queue for pasta at Padella is worth it. If that’s not enough jump on the tube to explore the rest of London.<br><br>## Transit<br><br>Waterloo is the nearest station to the apartment, just a 5-minute walk away. This connects you to the Bakerloo, Jubilee and Northern lines meaning you can get to iconic London sites in no time at all, such as Leicester Square and Oxford Street. This fabulous flat is famous! Woody Allen’s movie PARLIAMENT VIEW was filmed here, and in EUROPEAN VACATION, the roundabout scene was filmed just in front of the building. The location is amazing with the beautiful Albert Embankment and the River Thames in front of you. The living room and three bedrooms have views over the Thames. It is a panorama of immense beauty; all of London is right there. At night, the lighted city and the facade of the Parliament buildings with lighted Big Ben are memorable. The lighted LONDON EYE at night, colors changing continually, is an amazing scene — and only a short walk or bus ride away. The Hungerford Bridge is just beyond the London Eye with easy access to Trafalgar Square and Covent Garden. The Archbishop of Canterbury lives in Lambeth Palace across the street — this is an exclusive area. Walk along the Southbank past fine hotels, restaurants, shops, and ever-changing street art. There is a grocery store just along the Albert Embankment, three minutes walk. We use the apartment ourselves for a couple of days a week and we love it. Being in such a central London location it is not a huge flat, but the garden is a little gem that compensates. The open plan living room opens out into the garden bringing in lots of light, especially when the sun shines. The room is set up with a stylish dining table with designer Ghost chairs. The modern sofa opens into a small double sofa bed. There is a large smart TV with on demand and catch-up channels as well as Netflix (for those who like movies and great TV serials) to keep you entertained after a hard day exploring London. <br><br>Both bedrooms are spacious and have full double beds with fluffy duvets and a vanity unit to get ready for your night out, full length mirrors are in each bedroom, plus plenty of wardrobe space. You will be greeted with clean and ironed luxury sheets on the beds. The designer bathroom has a big double ended bath with waterfall taps and large rain head shower. The beauty of Lambeth is that is very residential but also very close to the most iconic sights of London. <br><br>Located a hop and a skip from the river, and all the attractions of London’s exciting South Bank (BFI, London Eye, Imperial War Museum, London Dungeon, Shrek Adventure, the National Theatre, Sea Life Centre, South Bank Centre and many more) are within walking distance. If you want to eat out, there is a wide range of options, for example Wahaca, Brasserie Blanc, Riverfront Bar and Kitchen and the Oxo Tower Restaurant also in the same area. <br><br>Immediately across the river is Westminster, with Parliament and Big Ben and the Cathedral / Abbey, just a 15 minute walk from the apartment. Further along, you can see the Savoy Hotel (for afternoon tea perhaps!). <br>For a slightly longer walk, 30 minutes can get you to Buckingham Palace, Somerset House or Borough Market (one of London’s oldest and largest food markets where you can find a wide array of farm fresh cheeses, meats, cooked foods and the amazing Monmouth coffee. )<br><br>For those interested in art, Damien Hirst’s new gallery is the adjacent building to the apartment block, showing modern artworks and including the stylish and sought after Pharmacy2 restaurant. Lambeth North which is on the Bakerloo line is 8 minutes walk from the house. The Bakerloo line will take you directly to Oxford Circus, Piccadilly Circus, Baker Street, Marylebone and Paddington - the last one being very useful as the Heathrow Express pulls into Paddington. Waterloo station is also a short walk, where the Jubilee Line East can carry you to the docklands quickly, home to the O2 music venue for all the best concerts.<br><br>Walking and cycling around here is also easy.
